Internship – AI‑Driven Automation for Statistical Programming (IDDI)
Location: Ottignies–Louvain-la-Neuve, Belgium (Hybrid)
Start date: As soon as possible, and at the latest July 1st, 2026
Duration: 6 to 12 weeks, with flexible time fraction
About the Project:
The project focuses on automating the generation of SAS® programs from sample layouts illustrating the final statistical tables in clinical study reports. By parsing mock tables and matching them to standardized dataset metadata, the tool aims to streamline biostatistical workflows and minimize manual programming efforts.
The proof of concept (PoC) has shown promise, and the next phase involves refining the solution for production use and improving documentation for wider adoption within the company.
Responsibilities:
Production Deployment:
Refactor and enhance the existing PoC codebase for stability, scalability, and maintainability.
Package the tool for deployment using technologies like Docker or Azure cloud.
Integrate the tool into current biostatistical workflows.
Validation Environment:
Establish and manage a validation environment to ensure the tool's outputs meet regulatory standards such as GDPR and the European AI Act.
Documentation:
Develop comprehensive user and technical documentation, including setup guides, usage instructions, and troubleshooting tips.
Document the tool's architecture and integration points.
Contribute to a library of mock tables and macros.
Continuous Improvement:
Gather user feedback to propose enhancements.
Collaborate with AI/automation experts and biostatistical teams.
Support expanding the tool's capabilities to cover new types of outputs like figures and listings.
Job requirements
Background in computer science, data science, or related field.
Experience with Python.
Interest in AI/NLP applications and automation.
Strong documentation and communication skills.
Analytical mindset and attention to detail.
Fluency in English, both written and oral
